5-15-81 Rutgers- I never heard a great quality tape of this show- the one now at the arrow is so good it is like being there- I should know as it was my second show- this show has some fame in that it is one of the "environment" shows- Where Fire on the Mountain summons the storms to play-

At 1:41 of Fire you can hear a roar from the crowd where you would not expect one- that is the first thunderclap and bolt of lightening- which could be seen through the glass roof of the center- then two seconds later listen real close- the mics picked up a second clap of thuner- clearly heard- amazing- we should find a way to get more bandwidth for those guys so more people could partake

Just curious, why is the S-arrow AUD better than the one here on LMA for 5-15-81? (assuming there is one here--i havent checked).

Only a small scattering of Audience recordings in my collection, however this may be a worthy candidate. LLR and Fire are fun due to the storm and the show does feature a strong setlist & inspired playing. The taper didn't find quite the sweet spot that Bertrando found found for 8-6-71 but then again no woo woos added either.

The audience for Rutgers at S. Arrow is the same as the one on the Archive.

On a side note, ran across this David Gans interview of Bertando and a couple of other legendary tapers from 1990. Fun stories and interesting to hear from their perspective.

I agree, I haven't come across a bad sounding show from speeding arrow yet. I've been looking for a crappy one star quality show, but I keep finding smokin' shows with sweet set lists that make me boogie in my seat while driving. Where the music never stops and the engineer keeps yelling Woo Woo during the Casey Jones two-step. I will continue on in my search, I will never surrender.

Chances are if it's over at S-Arrow it was here first--or in this case, still.

Arrow's the shit. While I can stream shows here, my lifestyle pretty much prevents me from the PC for any lengths of time. CD-R's are pretty much essential & Zephyr's a deep reservoir indeed.

Peace.
